HEART MIND BODY SOUL SPIRIT
The Way To Wellness
"He (God the Father) has sent Me (Jesus Christ) to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners...to comfort all who mourn...to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair."
-Isaiah 61:1-3
Fearfully & Wonderfully Made
Holistic Christian Care serves as a support & resource that teaches, challenges, & encourages others in their walk toward wholeness.
The heart, mind, soul, body & spirit are intricately woven together, each influencing and supporting the other, we see this truth described all throughout Scripture. Recently, psychology & science have echoed this reality and can offer credible insights into the unity of the mind and body.

Dr. Gabor Mate says "the mind and body are inseparable... the emotional apparatus in the brain...the immune system... the hormonal system & the nervous system are not even separate systems that are connected, they are one unit. Different manifestations of the same unit."
"Manifestations of the same unit." This is important to understand. Our emotional experiences can have physical effects. Our physical health can impact our mental and spirtual life. We are "fearfully and wonderfully made". God alone knows the intricate connections & the wounds that need to be addressed and healed.

Faith & Healing
Scripture describes how faith & healing can be intertwined. I have studied this for years because of my own health issues. My conclusion is best summarized from a quote by Ann Spangler, “While Jesus emphasized the importance of faith in the healing process the Gospels do not support the teaching that a lack of healing always indicates a lack of faith. And though the New Testament sometimes directly links individual sin with sickness, it does not presume that every sickness is caused by individual sin.” Illness is the result of living in a fallen world.

Healing can take many forms. It can be instant & miraculous. It can also take time & require perseverance. It may include a variety of therapies and treatments. Repentance & humility opens a pathway for the Lord to work in and through us. That in itself is restoring.
Grasping the truth that healing ultimately originates from the Lord, shifts a person’s focus from the problem to the Healer. We must never put more faith in getting a desired outcome above our faith in the character & love of God.

We will always face struggles, pain, and affliction. Jesus told us we would. (John 16:33) Our focus should be what the Lord's will & purpose is in the midst of those trials. When we do that, we won't just find answers to our problems, we will experience the abundant life.
‘Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, I will also help you,
I will also uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
